Introduction to Ladakh
Ladakh lies between the Karakoram Range and the Himalayas, making it one of the highest inhabited regions in the world. With altitudes ranging from 3,000 meters to over 5,500 meters, the air is thin, the skies are deep blue, and the landscapes look almost surreal.
The region became a Union Territory of India in 2019 and is centered around its capital city, Leh, which serves as the main hub for tourism and culture.
